Samurai Penguin

 

The idea started with a simple picture I drew just for fun. Being an author, I kept thinking I could make it into a great story, but I didn't think a novel would do it justice. What about a webcomic? I'm not a professional artist, especially when it comes to comics, but I was certain I could at least give it a try. I created a backstory and an outline, as well as other characters. The next task was figuring out how to get the pictures from my head to paper. It's not perfect, but it is getting easier as I go along.

 

The setting for Samurai Penguin is an alternative universe with a Japan-like feel. I've taken a lot from Japanese culture and some history and made it my own. This is not supposed to mirror actual Japanese history, so some things might not mesh with the history books. That's on purpose. The characters are talking animals, after all.

 

The main character is Kuroshiro, who lost his parents in a mysterious attack. He is determined to find answers and, if possible, avenge his family.
